Congratulations to the following students who were chosen to attend the Tuesday afternoon tea. The afternoon tea is a reward for those students who have put in an extra special effort in the previous week. Jointly sponsored by Longreach State School P & C and the Longreach Police Charity Golf Day.

School Dental Clinic

Last day for the Parental Consent form to be completed and returned to the office is this Monday, 5th March. Late forms will not be accepted.

Catering for Official Opening

Desperately need people to provide items for the morning tea on Tuesday, 13 March from 9:00am. Please advise either Tilly or Jocelyn at the office by Monday, 5 March.

Year 7 Camp $100 Note Board

Lucky winner of the $100 note board drawn on Monday’s parade was Paul Osborne. Thank you to everyone for supporting this cause.

Arts Council – ‘In Zoom’

The first Arts Council is being held on Tuesday, 13th March the same day as our Official Opening of the School Buildings, etc. The children in Prep to Year 3 only will be attending this performance. The green envelopes will be sent home next Wednesday to be returned by Friday, 9th March. Cost is $6-00.

 

Book Fair

In conjunction with the celebrations to open the new buildings at our school, the library is having a Book Fair. Books will be available for purchase in the Library from Monday 12th to Friday 16th March. You can buy books each morning before school from 8:00am to 9:00am, during lunch times and on Wednesday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Please note that the library will be closed for lunchtime activities during Book Fair week. The school receives a percentage of sales that we can use to purchase more resources for your children. Please come along and have a look at the fantastic range of books.

Swimming

Please note there will be NO swimming next week (6th – 9th March) for Years 4 to 7 as Mr Fickling is away on the Year 7 camp.

Homework Classes

Monday from 3:00-3:30pm in 4/5O classroom.

Tuckshop – Official Opening Day (12/3/7)

As this day will be very busy the only tuckshop orders will be for either a hamburger burger ($6) or sausage in bread ($4) with a packet of chips and soft drink. For catering purposes please complete the attached form and return to the Tuckshop by Thursday, 8th March 2007. Parents can also place an order by completing an order form.

Junior Cricket

Division 1 Cricket played at the LAAC Oval has been cancelled for tomorrow (3rd March) due to a Touch Training Camp being held at the Longreach State School.

Both the Have-a-Go and Super 10’s are still on at the High School from 8:30am.

Junior Rugby League

Football Training starting on Tuesday, 13th March at the Showgrounds from 5pm-6pm.
